There have been many highlights since the Core journey began ten years ago.
For us all, the visit of William Ury in June 2009 was a bit like a dream coming true. To have the co-author of Getting to Yes leading a Core seminar – and also meeting key people in government, churches, business and the professions – was a real honour.
And we have played host to other distinguished international figures too: Kenneth Cloke, Tom Stipanowich, Alan Limbury and Ian Hanger, for example – and welcomed friends and colleagues from south of the border such as Bill Marsh and Miryana Nesic.
For myself, mediating in Malawi was a particular highlight and challenge, and other journeys to places like Geneva and Dublin have augmented the learning which has come more locally.
I am delighted to say that many of the people we have met along the way have agreed to contribute to our latest project, Core’s anniversary book, to be published in January. This is exciting and ambitious – more news soon!
